Project Notes
Historical St. Botolph Street was the setting for the 3-bedroom condo which required a much-needed upgrade to match the luxury of Back Bay and the charm of the South End. We worked tirelessly with Bloom Architecture, John De Bastiani Interiors, and the clients to accomplish just that.
To open up the condo and increase the functionality of the unit, we removed several interior walls throughout, including a large wall between the Kitchen and Living Room. While this took some additional structural support, it was well worth it to enjoy a harmonious Kitchen and Living Area. We then worked with the architect, interior designer, and client to ensure that their design and vision came to life.
Bright colors and warm metals were used to give it the same welcoming feel as the tree-lined street down below. We replaced the existing windows to bring more natural light in and repainted the entire unit including a high gloss paint on the ceilings. Custom millwork throughout including in the kitchen, pantry, master bathroom, and guest bathroom elevated the level finish. High-end fixtures and finishes, hand-picked by the design team, rounded out this project that the clients will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
The kitchen features custom matte blue lacquered cabinets with walnut interiors, brass mesh inlays, leathered quartzite countertops, and a custom brass range hood. Top-tier appliances, including a La Cornue gas range and Sub-Zero refrigerator, were also added.
The blue and brass theme of the kitchen is continued into the living room with furniture, lighting, and textiles to match. To flood the unit with even more light, the ceiling was painted with a high gloss finish so the bright colors and natural light are constantly amplified.
As the hallway/guest bathroom, this room was designed with a more playful theme. The navy subway tile and polished brass plumbing fixtures give a pop of color while the patterned wallpaper adds texture to the walls. A custom built-in was also installed to add storage options for the bathroom.
Small, but so valuable in the city, the rear deck area is perfect for a couple of lounge chairs, dining table, and a spot for the grill.
