Project Notes
When we initially engaged with the client who purchased this 990-square-foot condo at the intersection of Beacon and Fairfield, the aspiration was to achieve a 'jewelry box living' experience. Many empty-nesters express the dream of owning a home in the city center, which would have been financially out of reach while raising children. The condo had previously embraced a more traditional design, featuring dark millwork and trim, brown leather furniture, and antiquated fixtures. We undertook a complete transformation, turning the space into a bright and radiant home.
To optimize the limited space in the main living room, we implemented a distinctive galley kitchen layout. The counters, cabinet units, and appliances were strategically arranged to face each other, challenging the notion that bigger is always better when renovating in the city.
While the master bedroom's size was slightly reduced, it maintains a cozy yet airy and open feel.
Throughout, we installed white oak hardwood flooring, restored the ornamental crown molding, and repainted the entire unit using Benjamin Moore’s “Chantilly Lace” and “Hale Navy”.
The condo has vintage treasures and antiques sprawled throughout as well as this jaw-dropping crystal chandelier in the Bedroom.
For this Living Room fireplace, we chose a striking marble slab from Cumar called, 'Blue De Savoie' which is paired with a contrasting black stone hearth with white veining.
