Project Notes

Neutral tones serve as the serene backdrop for the transformation of this two-level condo in Beacon Hill, a project masterfully executed under the discerning design vision of Hacin. At the heart of this undertaking is a newly introduced staircase, adorned with custom finishes, which not only serves as a functional element but also establishes the prevailing design aesthetic for the entire condominium.

Creativity takes center stage as the team endeavors to maximize space without compromising the clean, modern lines characteristic of the condo. Ingenious storage solutions include concealed compartments beneath the stairs, a seamlessly recessed shoe cabinet near the front entry, and a purposeful built-in window seat with drawers in the dining area. Each addition is thoughtfully integrated to enhance functionality while maintaining the overall aesthetic integrity.

Venturing into the Master Suite reveals a haven of relaxation, where a Japanese soaking tub and meticulous tile work contribute to the creation of a spa-like atmosphere. The meticulous attention to detail extends to the kitchen, where vertical grain, rift-sawn, and white oak cabinets, finished with a stain and dull catalyzed varnish, complement painted white cabinets and quartz countertops. This seamless integration, including the match with the custom staircase and Living Room built-ins, necessitated collaboration with a sophisticated millworker to achieve the spectacular finished product.

The custom staircase, stands as a testament to the harmonious combination of dark, rich wood and metal to craft a masterpiece. The lower section features rift, white oak treads and risers, while the upper section incorporates semi-open risers, allowing natural light to cascade below. The continuity of powder-coated steel balusters ascending the staircase further adds to the cohesion, acting as both a functional handrail and an aesthetic element on the second-floor landing.
