Project Notes
Though initially a minor renovation on the surface, the enhancements made to this already breathtaking condo boasting Boston Harbor views proved to be quite impactful. Typically, high-end condos are designed with universally appealing finishes and neutral colors to avoid offending potential buyers and attract a broad audience, and this particular condo adhered to that trend. However, to imbue the space with their unique personal touch, the client collaborated with Elms Interior Design to fashion a home that truly reflected their individuality.
In the kitchen, a 3/4" thick Zebra Polished stone was expertly installed, featuring a waterfall edge detail, and accompanied by new plumbing fixtures to harmonize with the existing design. The deep black stone with white accents presented a striking contrast to the white cabinets and perimeter stone. At the end of the island, a bespoke millwork pantry was added, painted in gray to align with the island's darker color scheme. In the master bedroom, a visually arresting custom built-in was crafted and installed, introducing both color and additional storage. Elms selected one-of-a-kind brass hardware, which seamlessly complemented the blue cabinets.
For the powder room, Elms collaborated with Patina Designs to custom paint the walls, infusing touches of gold that harmonized with new brass faucet, bathroom accessories, and vanity hardware. The vanity itself underwent a high-gloss black paint transformation to align with the contemporary design choices evident throughout the space.
